American diplomat and former ambassador to the United Nations, professor of government and diplomacy, Jeane Kirkpatrick, addresses the Jeane Kirkpatrick Forum at Tel Aviv, Israel, in Ramat Aviv, on December 21, 1987. Once a liberal Democrat, she became a Republican and President Reagan`s foreign policy advisor. Reagan, in turn, appointed her as the first United States female ambassador to the United Nations. She died at 80 in 2006.
