Macro Flower captured on 12.05.19 in Centurion, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. It is from the Kapok Tree Ceiba pentandra and are usually covered with these beautiful pinkish-light lilac flowers. Also known as Jaca Cotton, Java Kapok, Silk Cotton and Samauma. Ithas cotton like like fluff obtained from the seedpods. The tree is cultured for it`s seed fibre, particularly in South-East Asia . Seed oil can also be pressed from the seeds and has an iodine value of 85-100. Has potential as biofuel.
