This historical monument was erected in 1843 in memory of James Prinsep in Calcutta. The Palladian porch designed by W.Fitzgerald stands on the eastern bank of the Hooghly river bedside a ghat by the same name, which was the point of disembarkation for all royal British entourages during that time. |
