| Jaisalmer Fort is one of the largest and most well-preserved fortified cities in the world. It is located in the city of Jaisalmer, in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is a World Heritage Site and was built in 1156 by the ruler Rajput Rawal Jaisal, hence its name. The fort is located in the middle of the sand expanse of the great Thar desert, on the Trikuta hill. |
