Liquid drop art, or water drop photography, is a specialised art that involves the use of several flashes to freeze the action at the moment of impact. Pinpoint accuracy and focus are required to create the perfect macro image. Here two drops have been released with skilful timing so that one breaks the water and comes back up to form a spout, and then collides with the second drop coming down and forms an umbrella shape. Both drops were colored with yellow dye, but the first drop has been diluted by the water in the surface tank as it comes back up to form a spout. That is how the two colors in the image are created.
