| The Monastery of the Assumption in the people - Sokolsky is located 15 km from Gabrovo, near the Sokolovaya cave. The monastery was founded in 1832-1833, and the church in the rock on its territory was consecrated in 1834. The complex was built for donations of residents of neighboring towns and villages. Until 1959 was a male monastery, and now - a female. Since 1836 and up to the present time the theological school has been functioning at the monastery. |
