The Hyde Street Studio on San Francisco`s Hyde Street was initially a screening room for 20th Century Fox Films. By 1969 Wally Heider transformed it into the first, and successful, recording studio in the San Francisco Bay Area. Many of the local recording artists from around the Bay Area, Like The Grateful Dead and Santana, and many many more, came here. After Michael Ward took over in 1980, it has continued record world renowned artists like Tupac to Rufus Wainwright.
