Ospreys are tremendous hunters. They often swoop down from the sky and snatch fish that stray too close to the top of the water. They almost died out because of DDT in the 1970`s, but htey have made a tremendous recovery and are now foud all over the United States. They nest on the top of poles or in natural tree snags.
