Pictured is a closeup view of one of four bronze plaques that surround the base of central column of The Cenotaph, a war memorial on Heerengracht Street Cape Town, South Africa. This plaque is a hosptital scene. The memorial was designed by English sculptor Vernon March and comprises two bronze figures of soldiers in action on separate sandstone columns, one on either side of a tall central sandstone column supporting a bronze winged victory figure. The memorial stands on a square granite base. The Cenotaph was unveiled on the third of August, 1924.
