Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument is located in southern Utah. This picture was taken in the area called The Toadstools, part of the Paria Rimrocks, an amazing collection of hoodoos, badlands, and other interesting rock formations. The area is located between the Cockscomb Fault and the southern section of Cottonwood Canyon Road just north of US 89. A toadstool hoodoo/spire and the white rocks below represent two stairs of the Escalante Staircase |
