| The Historiensaule is a monument located in the middle of the town at Josaf Gorres Square. The various levels of the 35 foot statue chronicle the history of the city from its beginning as a Roman settlement, through the Crusades, The Thirty Year War, the French Revolution up through WWII. This fountain was completed in 2000 by sculptor Jurgen Weber. It is a whimsical way to chronicle the history of Koblenz, If it is a warm day, take off your shoes and cool your feet in the refreshing fountain. |
