Quaint Delfshaven (it survived the war) was once the official seaport for the dutch city of Delft. Piet Heyn (1577 -1629) was born here and as admiral for the West-Indische Compagnie he captured the Spanish silver fleet in 1628. His statue in Delfshaven dates from 1870. At the background the reconstructed 18th-century windmill the Distilleerketel at the beginning of the Voorhaven.
