Jazz musician Herbie Mann plays his flute, accompanied by fellow jazz musicians during a performance at the August, 1979 ChicagoFest. Mann was an eclectic and pioneering musician who explored bossa nova, disco, and other musical genres, fusing them with international sounds, and of course, with jazz. He played the flute, saxophone and bass clarinet. He died at home with his family in Pecos, New Mexico from prostate cancer on July 1, 2003 at the age of 73.
