| On July 21, 1861, the first major battle of the Civil War took place near the railroad community of Manassas Junction. The battle ended with the death of more than 5,000. The 85-year old resident of this home, Judith Henry, was killed by gunfire. The Henry House was destroyed and rebuilt by the National Park Service to commemorate the Manassas National Battlefield. |
