| This is a Summer picture of public art titled: Helios, located on a building on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois in Cook County. This bas-relief of Helios, who was a god and personification of the Sun in Greek mythology, it was sculpted by Gwen Lux, it was installed in 1929 on the McGraw-Hill Building which was demolished in 1998. The salvaged bas-reliefs were re-installed on a new building in 2000. This sculpture was designated a Chicago Landmark on February 6, 1997. This picture was taken on August 16, 2018. |
