Morning on a market in a Hamer village Turmi, Omo valley in Southern Ethiopia. A young warrior came to the market to buy everyday things. His remarkable hairstyle - hair at the back of head shaped with clay and supporting feathers - indicates that he has recently killed an enemy or dangerous animal. People from Omo valley often decorate their faces with metal watch bracelets. It is very common to see people carrying a small stick in their mouth, which is used for constant brushing of teeth. The Hamer are one of the biggest tribe in the southern Ethiopia (about 50,000) and they are agropastorialis, cultivating sorghum, vegetables, millet, tobacco, and cotton, rearing cattle and goats, collecting wild honey.
