The Second Annual Turkish Festival in San Francisco is a celebration of the Turks people spread around the world. As with many early groups of nomadic peoples who started in one region and spread out over time, the Turkish are a perfect example. Having started in what is now Southern Siberia and Mongolia, they can now be found from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan and of course, Turkey and many other countries, including the United States. Through all of this, culturally and linguistically they are still all the same people, as seen here celebrating their long shared heritage and all very enjoyable with all the booths, music and dance, and Halay, traditional Turkish dance and dress of the Turkish people. The term Haley refers to all forms of traditional Turkish dance. As enjoyed at the San Francisco Embarcadero Plaza 27 September 2025.
