Dancer, choreographer, singer, musician, and actor of stage, screen and television, Gregory Hines is seen here outside the Beacon Theatre in New York City on November 22, 1997. A devoted fan of bodybuilding, he had just viewed the IFBB Ms Olympia contest. Hines was one of the world`s greatest tap dancers and dazzled with his improvisational, rhythmic, and agile athleticism. He was the winner of a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his work on the Broadway stage and for an animated work he was the winner of a Daytime Emmy Award. Hines died in Los Angeles on August 9, 2003 from liver cancer at the age of 57.
