Pictured is a great egret hunting along the Namibian edge of the Chobe River in Africa. The great egret is also known as the common egret, large egret, great white egret and great white heron. The binomial name is Ardea alba. The Chobe River flows along the northern boundary of Chobe National Park and forms the border between Botswana and Namibia's Caprivi Strip. The egret was photographed from a safari boat stationed at the historic Chobe Game Lodge.
