Great Cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo. Its cheeks and throat are white, its pouch is yellow or orange yellow. In its breeding costume, its crown and neck are white-flecked or pure white, and a white spot appears on its flanks. It lives on sea shores and lakes, nesting in large colonies on rocks and in water. It feeds on fish by diving into the water. The posture of cormorants is unique, after hunting, it rests for a while with its wings open, and it is thought that they dry their wings in the meantime. In flight, it flaps its wings rapidly, extends its neck, and usually flies close to the water.
