| Majestic Grand Teton with its jagged peaks and small glaciers on a clear September day with a deep haze on the horizon from unchecked Canadian Forest Fires. Grand Teton looks huge and is actually 1,000 feet higher than the other peaks. Middle Teton and South Teton can be seen on the left of the giant peak. The slopes are covered in alpine fir and subalpine fir trees up to the harsh environment of the tree line above which only rocks occur. While the flats below and across Jackson Lake are covered in grasses and timber of Lodgepole pine and spruce varieties. |
