| The medieval double-sloped façade has been the subject of numerous alterations carried out over the centuries. In the aftermath of the devastations inflicted during the Turkish occupation of 1480, the great 16-ray rosette was built with fine Gothic circular openings converging at the center, according to the canons of Gothic-Arab art. In 1674 the Baroque portal was added, composed of two half-fluted columns on each side supporting the architrave with the coat of arms of the archbishop Gabriel Adarzo de Santander, supported by two angels. |
