The actress was the guest of honor of the Film School of the Art Institute of Chicago, speaking on the topic of "Comedy Italian Style." at the Chicago Cultural Center on March 28, 1987. Lollobrigida's heyday was the 1950s and 60s. She was a celebrated Italian, European and international sex goddess for decades. But she was also a talented photojournalist and sculptor. In her 70s she became a progressive political activist. She sold her jewelry collection in 2013 and donated the nearly $5 million in proceeds to stem cell therapy. She died in Rome on January 16, 2023 at the age of 95.
