| US Secretary of State George P. Shultz meets with Israel Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir in the latter`s Jerusalem office in 1987. Shultz was one of only 2 Americans who served in as head of 4 cabinet offices in 2 administrations, Nixon and Reagan. He also advised the Israelis on economic matters, another one of his areas of expertise. As it turned out, the two would have longevity in common.
Shamir died on June 30, 2012 at the age of 96.
Shultz died at his home in Stanford, California on February 6, 2021 at the age of 100. |
