George Pataki is a 3-term Governor of New York, and a lawyer. A conservative, though often moderate-leaning Republican, he served from 1995-2006. He is also a lawyer. Here he is photographed on May 5, 2003, taking questions from the press on the occasion of the grand re-opening, ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremony of the Millenium Hilton New York Downtown Hotel at 55 Church Street in Lower Manhattan. The hotel sustained damage on September 11, 2001 as it is located across the street from what has been termed ground zero of the terrorist attack and destruction of the Twin Trade Towers.
