Geodes are geological structures which occur in sedimentary and volcanic rocks. Inside the outer chalcedony shell are minerals such as calcite, pyrite, kaolinite, sphalerite, millerite, barite, dolomite, amethyst, smithsonite and quartz. These cross-sections have been cut and polished.
