They like to live in swamps, lakes and ponds. They are native to Eastern North America and considered invasive in countries like South America, Korea and Japan. They live about ten years in the wild and can grow to be up to nearly two pounds. They have lots of predators and are considered generalists when it comes to what they eat, which is mostly invertebrates. This bullfrog has the characteristic golden and black eyes. Its ears are identified by the brownish circle behind its eye. Its back legs are always ready to take a leap.
