The Gate of the Kiss is one of the most important works of the romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi, (1876-1957) a pioneer of abstraction in sculpture art. It is a stone sculpture, part of the Monumental Ensemble triptych in the Central Park of Targu Jiu, and it looks like a triumphal arch, symbolizing the triumph of life over death.
