Pictured is a bronze bust honoring Francesco Saverio Gargiulo who was born in Sorrento in 1840 and died in Naples in 1922. He was a magistrate , teacher and head of the Secretariat of the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers. He reached the highest levels of the judiciary, wrote important works in legal matters, was the first free lecturer of the University of Naples , held delicate positions at ministerial level and was a city councilor of Sorrento and Naples. The bust is located in a municipal park in Sorrento, Villa Communale, a short distance from the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi.
