Gangan, Talking drum, is a Nigeria, Yoruba two faced drumheads musical instrument with the skin fastened to a hollowed out hour glass wood and leather tension cords that control the pitch of the drum sound by squeezing them between the arm and the body of the player. It has a shoulder strap and a kongo or bent stick used for playing the drum. It is common along the West Coast of Africa, Cuba, Brazil and the Caribbean or wherever the Yoruba have settled.
