| Despite its appearance the Galapagos shark is not aggressive and poses no threat to divers or snorkelers. To the contrary these beautiful creatures shy away from humans in the water. The main threat to this species is longline fishing for shark fins for China and Asian shark fin soup. They play an important role in the ecological balance of the oceans |
