Science can tell us a lot about the moon: how far it is from earth, its size, shape, and weight, the temperature of the surface, its chemical composition, how the pace and range of the different paths of orbits of the sun, moon and earth determine how much light falls on the moon, to which we then ascribe a number of phases. But science tells us next to nothing about what we feel upon looking up at a full moon, at the timeless mystery and beauty of it, the sense of being in the presence of something alive, of something looking back at us. Here is the full moon with mystery, beauty and power intact, in a beautiful night sky, with clouds of an almost indescribable color. A few stars also appear as tiny pinpricks of light.
