The bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a large bird of prey found in North America and is the national bird of the United States. It is primarily a fish-eater, and can be found near lakes and rivers. The bald eagle has a white head, brown body and wings, and a hooked yellow beak. It can fly up to 10,000 feet and reach speeds of up to 75 mph when in flight.
