Pictured is a closeup view of the Fremont Bridge over the Lake Washington Ship Canal in Seattle, Washington. It opened in 1917 and due to it`s low vessel clearance of 30 feet it opens 35 times a day, making it the most frequently opened drawbridge in the United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is also a designated city landmark. |
