| Initially one of the five original lines of cars marketed by Ford Motors when introduced in 1938, it was in response to how both General Motors and Chrysler had several distinct car lines. By 1941 though, the De Luxe and Super De Luxe were upscale versions of specific models and Ford Motor was simplified to the three lines we now have.
