Griffon Vulture. Gyps fulvus. It is a large vulture. Its red body and wing covers contrast with the black wing and tail feathers. Its head and neck are covered with white down. There may be a light-colored stripe in the middle of its wing. It lives in rocky and mountainous terrain, nesting in colonies on rocky outcrops. They live in treeless steppes, steep cliffs and high mountains. The species' diet consists of carcasses of various animals. They eat the internal organs of carcasses and throw out the hard parts. In fact, they live in extremely large flocks. When they find a carcass, if there is no risk in the area, they quickly land on it and start eating. They attack so fiercely that they sometimes attack each other.
