Ruddy Shelduck Tadorna ferruginea. It is a round, large-bodied, long-legged duck. Outside the breeding season, it prefers lowland streams, slow-flowing rivers, freshwater pools, flooded pastures, marshes and brackish or saltwater lakes. It frequents salt and brackish waters along freshwater coasts, open country steppes, high plateaus and mountainous terrain. This species is both carnivorous and herbivorous. It is seasonally monogamous, but pairs may mate for several seasons.
