| Armeria maritima or thrift. This little plant that grows in barren landscapes is also known as sea thrift or pink thrift. It has attractive globe like pink blooms that are made up of individual flowerlets. The blooms extend on delicate stems above the clump of basal leaves that appear almost grass like. this example is doing quite well clinging to a crack in a rocky cliff face. The background rock is also covered in a selection of lichens of different colours. |
