The Arno is a river in the Tuscany region of Italy. It is the most important river of central Italy after the Tiber. The river originates on Monte Falterona in the Casentino area of the Apennines, and initially takes a southward curve. The river turns to the west near Arezzo passing through Florence, Empoli and Pisa, flowing into the Tyrrhenian Sea at Marina di Pisa. With a length of 241 kilometres it is the largest river in the region. Florence is a city in central Italy and the capital city and the most populated city of the Tuscany region. The city is noted for its culture, Renaissance art and architecture and monuments. The city attracts millions of tourists each year, and UNESCO declared the Historic Centre of Florence a World Heritage Site in 1982. Tuscany, Italy, Europe.
