| The first universities korfball championship between university teams in country Turkey. Even though the Korfball has a past in Turkey as a sports game back to early years of 1990 - the serious events and championships started to take place in the years of 2000 and later. With leading role of large universities like Istanbul Marmara University and Kocaeli University; other universities started to establish teams and training environments for Korfball too in last ten and twenty years.
