The Mariavite Cathedral, known as the Temple of Mercy and Love, was built in 1911-1914 according to the design of Bishop Jan Kowalski. The building was consecrated on August 15, 1914. As a result of a split within the Mariavite congregation in 1935, the Old Catholic Mariavite Church remained in P?ock, and the seat of the newly established Mariavite Catholic Church was Felicjanów, the former estate of the congregation near P?ock. During the German occupation, the temple was still open. It was not destroyed, even though the Nazis tried to convert the church into a theater. In 2006, a central ceremony was held to commemorate the centenary of the Old Catholic Mariavite Church. In 2014, the centenary of the cathedral's consecration was celebrated.
