The ruined south west tower of Farleigh Hungerford castle also known as the lady tower as it was used to imprison Lady Elizabeth Hungerford during the 1530s. Work on the castle was started in 1377 by Sir Thomas Hungerford and survived until the 18th century when it fell into disrepair. The castle is currently owned by English Heritage. |
