Campo Pequeno subway staion (Metro station) is one of the original net of Lisbon subway, opened in 1959. It was built under a project of architect Falcão e Cunha and renewed in 1994 under a project of architects Duarte Nuno Simões and Nuno Simões. The station has artistic interventions by the artists Maria Keil and Francisco Simões, author of the statues showed in the picture. Tehe ones represent peasants from the suburbs of Lisbon that in the XIX century used to sell its products directly to the public in the streets and markets of the city
