The Victoria and Albert Museum often abbreviated as the V&A, London, is the world`s largest museum of decorative arts and design, housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. It was founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The silver and gilt relief panel known as the 'Miracle of the Mule' by the Italian Renaissance artist Donatello (c. 1386-1466 CE). The panel is one of four created for the high altar of the Sant' Antonio Basilica in Padua, Italy. 1446-1450 CE. |
