Eurasian hoopoe (Upupa epops) is the most widespread species of the genus Upupa in the family Upupidae. It is native to Europe, Asia and the northern half of Africa. This species is highly distinctive, with a long, thin tapering bill that is black with a fawn base. The bird has broad and rounded wings capable of strong flight. Hoopoes have a characteristic undulating flight.
