This is an Autochton potrillo butterfly species, Hesperiidae family, Eudamini tribe. Previously known as Cabares potrillo. It is similar to the hammock skipper, Polygonus leo species, but smaller due to shorter forewings. The white dots on the forewing are also smaller and with a different pattern. Observed near Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Peten department, Guatemala. Population and distribution threatened by climate change.
