`Ernie Banks Memorial Statue` at Booker T. Washington in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, Texas.

Pictured is a memorial bronze statue of one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Ernie Banks. He played for the Chicago Cubs from 1953 to 1971 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1977. The statue was created by sculptor Emmanuel Gillespie and unveiled in 2018. Both Banks and Gillespie were graduates of Booker T. Washington High School. Banks and his buddies played football in the 1940`s on the very patch of grass where the statue now stands on the grounds of Booker T. Washington. The high school is now an arts magnet school for the visual and performing arts.
