Pictured is a relief representing Leonardo`s mastery of engineering on the left side of the monument to Leonardo Da Vinci in Piazza della Scala Square, Milan, Italy. It depicts Leonardo designing the sluices of the canals. The student on the right hand side is Cesare da Sesto, a pupil of Da Vinci and an Italian painter of the Renaissance. The monument was sculpted by Pietro Magni and erected in 1872. At the foot of the pedestal stand his four favorite students. Reliefs depict some of the disciplines that da Vinci mastered: painting, sculpting, engineering and architecture.
