Castle Hotel Galicia Nueva with restaurant and wellness, a real jewel of Novohrad County, Europe, Slovakia. Halic Castle was built in 12th century. The first written record of the castle dates from 1386, when Queen Mary of Hungary permitted local aristocrat Stephen Lossonczy to build a stone castle at this site. The castle belonged to the Forgach from 1554 to 1948. of Hali? Castle. Starting in the 1960s, the Institute of Social Care confined mentally handicapped youth of Lu?enec at the castle. Since 1993 the castle was abandoned and left without an owner, it started to deteriorate, in 2005, the castle was privatized and reconstructed.
