The town of Moravia is located in the Southeastern Finger Lakes region, south of Auburn. Moravia was part of the Central New York Military Tract. The first settlers arrived around 1789, while the indiginous natives still lived in the area. Moravia was long known as the last bastion of the Whigs, the defunct political party of native ex-U.S. president Millard Fillmore. Moravia historic homes includes Italianate, Greek Revival, and Queen Anne architecture. This redbrick 1870's classic Italianate home with cut fieldstone foundation, now is in disrepair. It was a favorite haunted house excursion destination during Halloween season. Herringbone crisscross brick sidewalk in front. |
